Senior IT System Administrator As Part of our Technology Team

Enervee is looking for an experienced Senior IT System Administrator to join our growing technology team. If the idea of jumping into the trenches with an exceptional team that cares deeply about our work, planet and virtually all of its inhabitants excites you, we would like to hear from you!


We are a small company of about 70 people. Our tech department currently consists of about 30+ people and our tech team is divided amongst 4 different scrum teams.


Enervee’s Senior IT System Administrator will be reporting directly to the CTO.


How you can make an impact


  • Developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the organization
  • Oversee management and configuration of core company software solutions (Google Workspace, FreeIPA, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, Jamf Pro/Protect, etc.)
  • Manage access to paid software such as Microsoft Office 365 and PyCharm
  • Manage employee devices (both hardware and configuration management)
    • Troubleshoot computer problems with employees
    • Help our team become gurus on their devices, and remove challenges/frustrations they have with their OS
    • Order and ship computers, monitors, and additional equipment to our growing team across the country
    • Repair damaged computers with vendors
  • Own our device and IT vendor relationships with Apple, Dell, Jamf, etc.
  • Perform regular system audits of employee computers using Jamf Protect, and remediate when necessary
  • Write scripts (sh, bash, and zsh) to configure employee devices
  • Oversee security awareness training for all employees
  • Manage our office network, including firewalls, wireless AP’s, and switches (once we have an office again that is)
  • Manage the VPN (providing both full tunnel and split tunnel options to employees)
  • Own our IT space in confluence
  • Oversee the employee onboarding/offboarding process for everything IT related

Job requirements

What you bring to the team

  • Experience working in a rapidly growing technology startup environment with less than 75 employees
  • 5+ years of experience in a desktop support and/or system administration role
  • Subject matter expert surrounding MacOS and Windows operating systems and their accompanying mobile device management platforms (Jamf, Intune, etc)
  • Have managed a fleet of devices with Jamf Pro as the sole or primary administrator
  • Experienced with linux (CentOS)
  • Experienced with pfSense, FortiGate, and Unifi
  • Experienced with scripting (sh, bash, and zsh)
