Utility Sales Director

Job description

We're looking for a take-charge and highly strategic Utility Sales Director with a proven track record of driving hyper-growth with a B2B SaaS product in the utility space. You'll have responsibility for managing the utility sales territory strategy, pipeline, and negotiating contracts with large electric and gas utilities. Your experience with large regulated utilities, energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, SaaS, and digital marketing will be key to establishing relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-level, at potential accounts. 

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Design and implement multi-channel sales strategy (email, phone, conferences, webinars, etc)
  • Establish relationships with large utilities in your assigned territory, in particular relationships in the western and/or southeastern US
  • Communicate the Enervee solution and differentiation to senior management at utility prospects
  • Developing proposal strategy for qualified opportunities both sole source and responding to RFPs
  • Negotiating and closing contracts

Job requirements

What You Bring to the Team

Our Utility Sales Director has a passion for saving energy and having a positive impact on the environment. A solid grasp of the utility energy efficiency sector and regulatory environment is very important for this role in addition to the following:

  • 5+ years experience selling to electric and gas utilities, preferably energy efficiency and/or other distributed energy resource solutions
  • B2B SaaS sales experience to large enterprises
  • Proven track record of closing multi-million dollar deals
  • Expert in Deal Origination, Sales Process, Solution Shaping and Contract Negotiations
  • Managing a sales pipeline, personal quota and forecasts
  • Pitching to cross functional teams (marketing, program management, IT, strategy) and building relationships with VP and C-level leadership
  • Mac-savvy and proficient with Google Apps and HubSpot CRM
  • Adept at understanding client needs and translating technical concepts into simple solutions
  • Ability to design custom solutions that meet client goals and lead to ongoing business and opportunities
